Magic LAN Upgrade! Morton Legion now has Internet!
|
Just in time for our upcoming November LAN, the Morton American Legion has added a DSL connection available for our use!
This connection is a low use / low bandwidth hookup, primarily intended to allow us to solve problems. For instance, Steam will no longer be an issue, as we can now avoid hassling with the dreaded Offline Mode. Also, it will give us the ability to help people who might be missing drivers, updates or patches for their system and games.
Important: It is not intended to allow attendees to play online games during the event, nor will it let people not in attendance join in on event servers or tournaments. We expect to leave the connection open and available to all attendees during the event, but any abuse of the bandwidth that results in a detraction of performance from other attendees will be dealt with on a case by case basis. |

You wonderful network admin will be handling the routher that will monitor everyone's traffic. If i want to i can make it so only http and steam can connect.. But i'd rather not. So be good to your fellow gamers. =)

maybe now that we will be having them more often, we could pay a few bucks more and get slightly higher bandwidth. seeing how most games now are almost internet dependant and how steam is such a bully with updates. i think that it would be a wise investment, but just my opinion.
thanks.
