Sleeve your PSU cables or not?

Postby computer_man20037 » Mon Apr 29, 2013 4:34 pm

So I been looking a little over the FAQ guide to sleeving your PSU cables on Overclock.net and reading more into it I keep finding more questions and still trying to find the answers to them and wondering am I getting into something that I will utterly get half way through before I ultimately quit the project?

Links:

FAQ --> http://www.overclock.net/t/1262900/freq ... -questions

PSU double pin --> http://www.overclock.net/t/1260791/seas ... ing-2-to-1

I'm worried that I won't do the double pin correctly or that I might not be able to sleeve the multiple sata connector cables so those will be plain and not look as good.

Other then looks and being overly anal for cable maangment, I find it easier just to find a Modular psu works fine.

I think I have a black light sleeving kit at home...if you want it compy you can have it. so long as I still have it and find it.

I guess it won't be to bad once i start but just the idea of a double pin layout throughout the cables scares me a little bit... but my friend did give me a awesome idea... since im going orange and black theme that I should put the half life symbol on the side of my case either etched or cut out in the metal itself

absolutely yes

edit - also, given the color scheme, if you need any fans buy a bunch of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835553002
They've never been that cheap (lowest I saw was $10) and they are the models I use and recommend like crazy. Fantastically quiet, excellent performance and they look great even in builds that aren't specifically orange/black.

another edit - crap. looks like the rebate form specifies 1 rebate per person/order/address. that sucks. though even at $10 for each of them after the first they are great fans. I got mine a good while ago when they were still in the $15-17 range and absolutely love them.
