Been a while since I've been on here. Upgrading the home lab

Postby NecessaryEvil » Sat Feb 10, 2018 7:36 pm

It's been a while since I've been on here, but since Craigslist is terrible around here, I figured I'd post here and see what happens.

I'm exapanding my interests/responsibilities at work, and need to rebuild my home lab. It's a few years old at this point.

2 Servers (items are the same except where asterisked):
Dell PowerEdge T310:
Xeon X3430 (quad core)
* 28GB RAM (6x4GB DDR3 ECC Registered in one system, 4GB in the other)
Dell PERC 6/i RAID controller
4x3.5" bays
3x 1TB SAS 7200RPM HDDs in hot swap trays
1 3.5" blank
* 1 has DVD-ROM + DVD-RW, 1 has just a DVD-ROM
dual onboard Broadcom GigE
dual PSU
Windows Server 2012 R2

2 Workstations (items are the same except where asterisked):
Custom built tower (Antec 300 case, Antec 650W PSU):
Core i7 2600k
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (I think)
* Asus motherboard (P8Z68-V LE in one, P8Z77-V LK in the other) onboard audio, Ethernet, USB 3.0
16GB (4x4GB) Corsiair Vengeance Low Profile PC3-12800
* OS SSD (Crucial 128GB C300 in Z68, 64GB M4 in Z77)
* Data spinner (1TB 7200RPM in Z68, 320GB 7200 + 5400 in Z77)
2GB AMD FirePro V5900 (DVI, 2 DP)
DVD+-DL
Windows 10 Professional(Windows 7 key, but upgraded)

I know what I can get parting these out on eBay (and that's better than I'm asking here), but shipping is a pain and I'm not interested in finding boxes and having to deal with it. Looking to sell the servers as a set, because, personally, I'd ran one souped up for more RAM with a mix of SSDs and 1TB drives, and the other kept around for just low RAM file storage. But, if the offer's right, then I'll see what I can do. $300 for the pair

The workstations, I'll list the Z68 for $250, the Z77 for $220. They're good for light gaming the way they are, but I had the Z68 loaded with 960 in it for Doom. Now they're set up for me to play around less with Doom and more with Solidworks & AutoCAD.

That should take you to the servers. I'll post the desktops tonight.
